Study Digital Transformation

Digital transformation is a challenge faced by businesses in all fields. Driven by the worldwide pervasion of all life areas and technological systems with IT, by IT megatrends, by digital start-ups and international competition, suitable strategies must be developed and implemented for the digitisation of one’s own business. It is out of question that this transformation is necessary. Currently it is still unclear, though, in which direction the transformation is set to move. Between 2014 and 2015, as part of the first project “digital excellence” in cooperation with Sopra Steria GmbH, the question of how to describe this transformation goal was pursued. The results of this study across all fields were published in different forms. The main report “Digital excellence: Taking stock on digitisation of German businesses and government agencies” was published in Summer 2015.

From 2015 to 2016, a qualitative-empiric follow-up study on the topic “data-driven agility” was conducted. The corresponding dimension of the excellence model from the previous study underwent in-depth scrutiny in this study. The results were published in November 2016.
