Collection of personal data

HITeC only collects, stores or processes data to pursue its own business purposes. As a rule, our website is available to all users without any personal data being collected. Personal data are exclusively requested, processed and used to the extent required in order to provide services you request or to make content available. Personal data are collected on a voluntary basis, if this is possible for us.

Gathering general information

When you access our website, information of a general nature is gathered automatically. Such information includes, for example, the type of web browser used, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider and the like. The information concerned is exclusively of a kind that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your identity. Moreover, such data are generated every time you access other websites on the internet. It is not a special function of our website. We evaluate the information thus gathered statistically.

Dealing with personal data

Personal data are, for example, name, postal address, bank account or e-mail address. We exclusively use these data in order to reply to your requests, to send informative material or to perform contracts. We do not store personal data longer than necessary.

We only deal with personal data in so far as this is possible in compliance with provisions under data protection law. In this context, we also endeavour to take all necessary technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data appropriately from unauthorised access and misuse at all times. According to state-of-the-art technology, we make every required technical and organisational effort to secure your customer data against loss, falsification or unauthorised access.

The use of personal data is subject to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) as well as legal provisions of the German Teleservices Act (TMG).

Contacting HITeC

When you contact us by e-mail or via the contact form, the information you provide is stored in order to answer your query and for any follow-up measures.

Storage of data

We comply with the principles of data reduction and data economy. Therefore, we only store your personal data as long as this is required to achieve the purposes mentioned herein or as prescribed by the various retention periods laid down by law. After the relevant purpose has ceased to exist and/or after expiry of such periods, the data in question are blocked or deleted routinely according to the legal provisions.

Your rights to information, rectification, blocking, deletion and objection

You have the right to receive information about your personal data stored by HITeC at any time. You also have a right to rectification, blocking or – apart from obligatory data storage to transact business – deletion of your personal data. Please send your request to privacy@hitec-hamburg.de or use our contact form.

In order to be able to consider a blocking of data at any time, such data must be stored in a lock file for control purposes. You may also demand the deletion of such data, unless there is a statutory archiving obligation. In so far as there is such an obligation, we will block your data upon request. You may make changes or revoke your consent with effect for the future by informing us accordingly.

Contents and services of third-party providers

The offer on our website may possibly also comprise contents and services of other providers that complement our offer. Examples of such offers are Google Maps, YouTube videos or third-party graphics. If such third-party services are requested, it is always necessary to transmit your IP address. As a result, these providers are able to become aware of and store your user IP address. We make every effort to involve only such third-party providers as use IP addresses exclusively in order to deliver content. However, we do not have any influence on which third-party provider may store the IP address.

For example, such storage may serve statistical purposes. Should we become aware of storage activities of third-party providers, we will inform our users without delay. In this connection, please also take note of the specific data protection statements regarding individual third-party providers and service providers whose services we use on our website.

Changes to our data protection rules

We reserve the right to adjust this data protection statement from time to time, so that it always meets the current legal requirements or in order to implement changes in our services in the data protection statement, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data protection statement will then apply during your next visit.

Questions about data protection

If you have any questions or reservations regarding the HITeC Data Protection Policy or data processing, please send us a message at privacy@hitec-hamburg.de or via our contact form.
