In cooperation with PONTON GmbH, the Enerchain Project explores and evaluates prototypical processes for decentralisation, based on peer-to-peer and blockchain technology, applied in different areas within the energy sector. Current applications include energy trade in order to avoid brokers, network capacity utilisation or standard reserve transfers in distribution networks via transmission system operators, distribution network operators and aggregators. Additionally, decentralised processes for the trade between prosumers and consumers in local Smart Grids are investigated in this cooperation as part of the project NEW 4.0 (Norddeutsche Energie-Wende).
